World Skills COmpetition (WSC)

The World Skills Competition (WSC) is an international competition where youth from around the country compete to find the best participants in their respective fields. Formerly known as the Skills Olympics, the bi-annual competition was first held in Spain in 1946 and Malaysia first joined the World Skills Competition in 1993, in the 32nd WSC.

On this day, more than 50 countries participated in the World Skills Competition, where a total of 45 areas of expertise were contested including Welding, Beauty Therapy, Floristry, Mechatronics and others.

Through its participation in the World Skills Competition, SkillsMalaysia supports the government's efforts in mainstreaming Skills Training to achieve the objective of producing a skilled workforce in the country and to make Malaysia a high-income country.
