The WSMB competition is a national level skills competition that has been organized annually with the aim of recognizing youths and skilled workers who possess exceptional skills. This competition is open to youth aged 21 years and below (except for certain skills areas which only available for youths 23 years old and below). This competition aims to improve skills of manpower in Malaysia. In addition, the competition aims to increase awareness to the people about the importance of skills to the development of Malaysia.

Application Terms

Malaysian citizen;

Open to youth:
   - Not more than 21 years old
   - Not more than 23 years for Mechatronics, Aircraft Maintenance, Information Network Cabling, Cloud Computing and Rapid Transit Systems.

Each applicant is only eligible to apply for one skills area only

The categories of applicants who are not eligible to compete in the WSMB Competition are :

 Gold medalists are not eligible to apply for the next competition in the same skills area.
 Participants who have represented Malaysia in ASEAN Skills Competition (ASC) and WorldSkills Competition (WSC).

Application Procedure

i. Applicants who are interested in participating in this competition need to apply through website www.myspike.gov.my

ii. Applications that are incomplete and contain false information will not be entertained while entry fees will not be refunded.

iii. Any application that does not meet the stipulated conditions will be rejected.

iv. Applicants from the public skills training institution (ILKA)/ public colleges and universities (IPTA) must submit an application through the agency headquarters (private application will be rejected).

v. Applications must be approved by the head of the department / employer respectively.

vi. Only participants registered in the system are eligible to participate in the competition.
